Conservation Support Officer (Wildlife)

Yorkshire Dales National Park

Salary: £14,733 to £16,830 per annum pro rata

Fixed Term Contract for 1 year

15 hours per week

Based in Grassington

The Yorkshire Dales has some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Britain. For many, they are also a unique way of life. This job is to maintain the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Dales and promote wider understanding and greater enjoyment of this irreplaceable treasure.

This role will provide support to the Authority's Wildlife Conservation Team in conserving, enhancing and raising awareness of the biodiversity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

You will be educated to a Higher National Certificate/Diploma or equivalent in a discipline related to wildlife conservation and will preferably have some experience of working within a wildlife conservation environment. The post has a strong administrative role and therefore requires good administrative skills including data collection, file maintenance and management and IT skills. Knowledge of GIS, especially MapInfo, would be an advantage.
