Assistant Nature Reserves Officer

Cornwall Wildlife Trust requires two Assistant Nature Reserves Officers for their mid and West Cornwall ares. Both posts are full-time, based at the Trust's headquarters near to Truro
The post-holders will:
• Assist the Area Reserves Managers in the management of Trust nature reserves in Mid or West Cornwall.
• Recruit, organise, supervise and support the full-time Volunteer Estates Team in practical reserves management. Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of the trainees and ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
• Carry out practical habitat management of nature reserves.
• Carry out management of nature reserves infrastructure.
• Have specific livestock management responsibilities.

Applicants should:
• have a relevant degree, or equivalent qualification, and at least two year's relevant work experience,
• have the practical skills and relevant qualifications for; tree felling, tractor driving, pesticide use, fencing, livestock management,
• be a good communicator,
• have an excellent knowledge of habitat management,
• be enthusiastic and self-motivated,
• have a willingness to work in all weathers,
• have a willingness to undertake further training where necessary; trailer driving, tree climbing.

A full driving licence is essential.
A current recognised first aid certificate is desirable as well as a good understanding and experience of Health & Safety.
A CRB check will be undertaken for this role.
