Baby mountain gorilla face 'mangled' by a snare - Dies of his injuries08/02/2010 17:16:29
Nsekanabo has died despite the intervention of the gorilla doctors.
Update - Baby gorilla has died
The Gorilla Doctors, Magda and Eddy, and the Rangers finally found Nsekanabo and performed an urgent intervention. They sedated Tumaini and her baby, and succeeded in removing the rest of the snare from Nsekanabo's left ankle, in addition to sewing up his face that was so badly damaged. Tumaini was still breast feeding Nsekanabo, who was Tumaini's first known child.
Innocent and the Rangers are devastated. Baby mountain gorilla caught in snare. February 2010. These are not pleasant pictures, but this is the reality of what happens when gorillas get caught in snares. The animals are injured, separated from their family, and very, very frightened. In this particular case Innocent, one of the gorilla rangers, thinks some of the injuries were sustained when the juvenile tried to free himself from the snare in a panic. Unrecognizable
Unfortunately there is more bad news. The Gorilla Doctors are now in the field with Rangers but cannot find the juvenile. Click here to read more and to donate towards the protection of the gorillas.

These killings need to stop, NOW. These are BEAUTIFUL animals and they DO NOT need to be punished and killed for the fun of it, or for profit. These are GODS animals and they feel pain too. They were put here for a purpose. Leave these animals alone and let them roam around the way they were supposed to and live in peace. THANKS

After this news, I just feel ashamed of being human. We have a brain and a heart for most of the times create chaos and hate, thrashing every living creature. This case should be investigated and the criminals should be put in jail right away, they are killers, period. Thanks for informing us.
