Cricket Birdwatching
While playing in a recent game of cricket, I found that I had a lot of time on my hands during the game, having opened the batting and departed rather early. The game was in Banjul in Gambia, and the pitch had a few trees and shrubs around, which attracted some interesting birds. I happened to have my binoculars and Gambia bird book with me, so I had a look around. I recorded some 20 species over th enext hour, and it struck me that many other people will also have an hour to kill during a cricket match, so we thought we would see where the best and most interesting birdwatching is to be had, during cricket matches. Obscure I know.
